Paul
E. Holman was born in 1951 in Knoxville
Tennessee. Educated
in Madison Heights Michigan (suburban Detroit). Started selling home grown vegetables very young and GRADUATED
to the “paper route”. After
finishing Lamphere High School in 1969, Paul plunged into a sales
oriented career. From territorial sales director to working in the hospitality business, Paul was looking for the
ideal lifestyle.
Personal
tragedy caused Paul to re-evaluate his priorities. Searching through a variety of opportunities, Paul pursued
the blend of working with children, pets, and photography in volume
settings. One thing he found unique about this opportunity was
that it was a small enough market to “Be Marketed”, but large
enough to support the lifestyle he desired. That WAS his personal interpretation of what Visual Image
is.
In 1992, Paul,
excited about the possibilities this new concept provided, looked
for someone to recruit with a strong business background and an
entrepreneurial bent. Hearing
Donald was interested in escaping the corporate pressure cooker,
Paul shared his ideas and concepts for growing the business with
Donald. As they say,
the rest is history!
Paul
is the President of The Visual Image Inc. and has served in that
capacity since 1994. |

Donald
Holman was born in 1959 in Highland Park, Michigan. At age 12, the family moved to Tennessee and Donald graduated
from White County High School in 1977. Pursuing college and working
part time at a variety of jobs, Donald eventually chose Wal*Mart
management as his career path.
When Donald started with the company,
Wal*Mart only had
587 stores and Sam’s was unheard of. Over the next few years, Donald pursued a varied career
path within the corporate structure, working both in store management,
and in new store planning and developing. Loving the excitement of growth, Donald eventually wound
up in the new stores division, traveling the country with a crew
of specialists, opening new Wal*Mart stores.
After
years of the corporate life, Donald was interested going in a
new direction. When
approached by Paul about this new endeavor, they decided to use
the Nashville market as the first test of the concept. Success followed, along with a lot of improvements along
the way. Input came
from many sources: franchisees, customers, employees, the lab,
and the general flow of the business. Donald made his mark in the standardizing of the processes
and the paper flow, always striving for minimum paperwork but
thoroughly coverage of the relevant numbers
Donald
is the Vice President and has served in that capacity since 1994. |

The
Home of The Visual Image is a “home” indeed. Located in a quaint Tennessee town less than two hours
from Nashville, Home Office is the former Carter family Residence. Erected
in 1924 one block off the bustling downtown “square” you often
see in southern town, it was occupied until recently by descendants
of the Carter Family. An Edwardian Style brick structure, the
house was the last remaining private home on the main street in
the “Historic Downtown” district.
Come
by! You’ll see in
the foyer and throughout the office the memories of families from
all across the United States. |
